Finished: Tamiya Mclaren MP4/8 1/20
A while ago i finished the Mclaren MP4/8 in 1/20 scale from Tamiya. Just forgot to post about it so here we go!
The McLaren MP4/8 was the Formula One car with which the McLaren team competed in the 1993 Formula One World Championship. The car was designed by Neil Oatley around advanced electronics technology including a semi-automatic transmission (which could be switched over to fully automatic), active suspension, two-way telemetry, and traction control systems, that were developed in conjunction with McLaren shareholder Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG). It was powered by the 3.5-litre Ford HBD7 V8 engine and was the first McLaren to feature barge boards.[5] The McLaren MP4/8 was also first Ford-powered McLaren car since McLaren MP4/1C in 1983.
This time i used Zero Paints for the red and white colors which wasn’t easy to be honest. Especially the red gave me some headaches but after a couple of tries it got acceptable. Then a last time my decals got wrecked with the clear coat…

But it got better and the kit came along very nice.

For the decals i also used an after market set because of the tabacco outings. As you might see, still some issues with the paint but i didn’t mind doing it again for a third time. After a assambly it got finished and this is the result:

Not great but much better then my Mclaren MP4/7 from Tamiya which i painted by brush.
As of al the trail and errors i also made sure i got enoug decals which gave me an idea for the second Ferrari SF70 i got from Tamiya:
